EEC LEED Platinum Home

Our company is passionate about seeing systems implemented which benefit the home owner and the environment. We believe that educated consumers will make correct choices to meet their specific needs and support positive environmental change. Our platinum LEED home, to be completed in the fall of 2009, is an example of the highest quality energy efficient home which is elegant, cost effective, and comfortable with a minimal environmental footprint.   This project represents a major investment in consumer and professional building trades education.  The home incorporates the latest technology which is integrated across the building trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, power generation, heating/cooling distribution) for absolutely superior performance.  The materials used during construction are reused, recycled, and/or environmentally-friendly with very low volatile organic content, or designed for excellent indoor air quality.   The products are from main stream building products manufacturers and acquired from local sources where possible.

The home is targeted to receive Platinum LEED certification and currently validates over 100 or 135 possible LEED for Homes points with 90 required for Platinum certification.  It served as the demonstration home for the Energy Star Summit held this December in Denver, and sponsored by the Department of Energy and the Colorado Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council.  Upon completion, we will provide a virtual on line tour of the home, the LEED for Homes Checklist and performance test results/ratings for this home.   In the future, we will add web-enabled real time controllers to monitor and control energy use with closed-loop feedback.
